Research fellow Dr. Guillermo Rivera Arroyo
The World Psychiatric Association, as part of its Action Plan 2008-2011, has launched a programme of research fellowships for early-career psychiatrists from low- or lower-middle income countries, in collaboration with internationally recognized Centres of Excellence in Psychiatry.
Within this programme, the World Psychiatric Association is funding a research fellowship at the Centre for Youth Mental Health/Orygen Youth Health Research Centre at University of Melbourne, Australia, led by Prof. Patrick McGorry. Applications were received from psychiatrists less than 40 years of age or with less than five years elapsed since completion of residency training.
The selected fellow is Dr. Guillermo Rivera Arroyo from Bolivia.
He will receive a subsidy of 30,000 Euros plus coverage of travel expenses (economy class). He has committed himself to report to the World Psychiatric Association about the results of his activity, and to apply in his country of origin what he has learned.
