The Spanish Society of Psychiatry brings together more than 60 experts to discuss the impact factor in psychiatric journals
The Spanish Society of Psychiatry (SEP), together with the Spanish Society of Biological Psychiatry (SEPB), hosted the Third Conference on Journals with Impact Factor in Psychiatry, which was held on 17-18 February 2012 in Palma, Mallorca. The event featured the participation of the publishers of specialised periodicals of national and international prestige, as well as more than 60 specially invited experts, primarily SEP and SEPB members who publish in international journals.
The aim of this event was to spread and promote quality publications by Spanish psychiatrists, as well as to improve the main channel of dissemination for the SEP and the SEPB, the Revista de Psiquiatría y Salud Mental (Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health), increasing its impact factor and attaining its indexing in Medline, following its appearance in the Thomson-Reuters Journal Citation Report.
The programme of this Third Conference was made up of three essential blocks, each of which was respectively focused on the assessment of the Spanish, European and US journals with impact factor, followed by the identification of the main challenges facing the Revista de Psiquiatría y Salud Mental.
