Latin American Psychiatric Association (APAL)

The 27th APAL Congress will be held at the Sheraton Libertador Hotel in the city of Buenos Aires on 16-19 November 2012. APSA (Argentinean Psychiatrists Association) will be in charge of its organization.

We expect to receive over 4,000 participants, and we will have the scientific participation of the 22 Psychiatric Member Societies constituting APAL, the presence of WPA authorities and distinguished members of Psychiatric Societies from Spain, Portugal, and the American Society of Hispanic Psychiatrists.

The official Congress language will be Spanish, with simultaneous translations into English and Portuguese.

The activities will take place in 14 simultaneous rooms for four days, with continuous hours from 8.00a.m. to 8.00p.m. which will make room for all the submissions selected by the Scientific Committee and ample room for the debate and comments on the presentations among all the participants.

In the Closing Session, Prizes for Best Unpublished Work will be awarded in Psychiatry and in Psychology and Mental Health. There will also be Prizes and Mentions for Best Poster, Best Scientific Communication, and Special Prizes for residents of each APAL Region for Best Scientific Communication. Through this, we intend to award recognition to scientific productivity in our specialty, particularly to young psychiatrists and psychiatrists-in-training.
