This issue of the WPA News reveals various promising latest activities of our organization. Many news items coming from the WPA components, as pieces of a great puzzle, construct our unity in diversity and mirror the broadening impact of WPA in improving the quality of our professional field.
Antoine Besse and Fini Schulsinger had passed away recently leaving us with deep sadness. Obituaries for them echo our appreciation to their contributions and international commitments.
Our Zonal Representatives not only inform us about their activities in their Zones but also demonstrate how inter-zonal collaborations could be rewarding. News from our Member Societies, especially from those of European and Asian societies in this case, besides from some of our Affiliated Societies, mirror various important scientific and organizational activities showing the wide influence of the WPA across the world. The scope and richness of the news informing us about the increasing activities of our Scientific Sections display how these sections really deserve to be entitled as the scientific backbone of our organization. I am sure you will also be delighted to read the report on the latest Educational Activities covering various topics of scientific interest and reaching all regions of the world. As usual, you will also have the chance of following details and roster of our future Scientific Meetings and a comprehensive list of all our Publications.
WPA is fully committed to raising awareness for a better mental health for all, for higher scientific and ethical standards in psychiatry, for better clinical practice and services, and efficient solidarity between professionals, users and carers. We are pleased to see the continuing interest of the WPA components in contributing to this process of reflecting the impact and richness of diversities in the WPA through its media channels.
