The APA Research Colloquium for Junior Investigators

The APA Research Colloquium for Junior Investigators will be held during the 2010 APA Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA on Sunday May 23, 2010. The topics that have been selected for this year's colloquium are:

  • Trauma and Stress-Related Disorders: From Childhood to Geriatrics
  • Neuroscience from Molecular Biology and Genetics to Neuroimaging
  • Treatment of Severe Psychiatric Disorders, Including Substance Abuse, Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology

The Research Colloquium for Junior Investigators is a one day workshop to be held as part of the APA annual meeting activities.  A total of 54 junior investigators will be selected, including residents, research fellows, and junior faculty.  Under this format, junior investigators who are starting a research career are assigned to small groups of five participants and two mentors where mentees present their research and receive advice from the two senior faculty mentors.  The Research Colloquium has been offered since 1996 and to date more than 600 junior investigators have participated.

Each participant will receive a $1,000 stipend. The application deadline is November 16, 2009
