At the Second Eastern European Congress of Psychiatry held in Moscow from 27-30 October 2009 and organized by the Psychiatric Association for Eastern Europe and the Balkans (PAEEB) in conjunction with the annual Russian Conference of Psychiatry, Prof. Dusica Lecic Tosevski, WPA Zonal Representative for Central Europe, became new president of the PAEEB. She also received Certificate of Merit for development of collaboration in mental health care sphere and was awarded a silver charm in the form of Greek letter “psi” as a personal present from the Russian popular journal “Psychology”.
2. Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts
On 5 November 2009 Prof. Lecic Tosevski was elected a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
3. WHO Collaborating Center for Mental Health
On 24 September 2009 the Belgrade Institute of Mental Health (IMH) was designated as WHO Collaborating Center for Mental Health Workforce Development. The inauguration, in the presence of the Minister of Health of Serbia and Dr Matthijs Muijen, WHO Regional adviser, was organized on 18 November 2009 with a symposium at which the IMH preventive programs, as terms of reference with the WHO, were presented.
