November 2010
3rd European Conference on Schizophrenia Research (ECSR), Berlin, 29 September - 1 October 2011

Like in the years before, the ECSR 2011 will be a co-sponsored regional meeting of the WPA and its Section on Schizophrenia, organized as a joint thematic conference by the Competence Network on Schizophrenia in collaboration with the German Association for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, as the national organizing partner, and the European Psychiatric Association, respectively. The congress president Prof. Wolfgang Gaebel looks forward to providing again an excellent forum for scientific exchange of schizophrenia experts – researchers as well as clinicians – not only by a comprehensive scientific program covering a broad range of topics currently addressed in basic research and identified as challenges in clinical settings but also by a concept that encourages intensive communication among active and non-active participants. The motto in 2011 will be “Facts and Visions”. Wolfgang Gaebel is confident that like in 2009 this biannual congress will attract more than 500 attendees from different – not only European – countries. The program will comprise of plenary lectures, symposia with invited speakers, submitted symposia included into the program by the scientific committee, sessions of thematically grouped free communications, workshops, CME-courses, and a hopefully extensive poster exhibition.

  • Submission of abstracts for symposia are welcome until 17 January 2011
  • The deadline for abstract submission of oral presentations and posters will be 18 April 2011
  • Online submission will open from November 2010 via www.schizophrenianet.eu

Psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychologists being active or interested in recent developments in schizophrenia research, therapeutic interventions, and diagnostic options are invited to attend the ECSR 2011 in Berlin. Already the second ECSR was held in Berlin; yet future conferences shall be hosted by other European cities.
