The Mid-Term CME of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS), held on August 7-8, 2010 at Aurangabad was a successful scientific program. The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. R. D. Bapat, Vice Chancellor, MGM University, Mumbai. The Guest of Honor was Dr. Shashank Dalvi, Dean, Faculty of Medicine Government Health University of Maharastra. The IPS President Dr. Ajit Avasthi along with Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, the office bearers of IPS and local Organizing Committee, lighted the lamp.
The Social Security Scheme of the Indian Psychiatric Society was launched by Dr. Ajit Avasth and the IPS publication entitled “Indian Research in Psychiatry - a journey of six decades” edited by Dr. T. S. S. Rao, Honorary Editor, Indian Journal of Psychiatry, was released by the Chief Guest Prof. R. D. Bapat. These events made the CME program an historic one.
The theme of the CME was “Interface of Psychiatry and Medicine - Issues and Management”. The scientific sessions were very much informative and interactive. More than 350 delegates were registered. All the scientific sessions were held on time and the attendance was almost full in the hall. The social and cultural program hosted in the evening by the organizing committee was praised and enjoyed by all the participants.
