Scientific Sections & Education

Undertaking scientific and social research - and sharing the findings of that research - are key to WPA's mission to advance psychiatry and mental health across the world.  WPA's 70+ Scientific Sections, covering practically every aspect of psychiatry, are charged with the collection, analysis, presentation and dissemination of information concerning services, research and training.  With increasing focus on evidence-based care, it is vital to use this peer-reviewed research to educate and empower psychiatrists, patients, caregivers and communities.  Through WPA's education programs and partnerships, this is becoming a reality across the globe.
