The Forensic Section has been involved with the organization of this Conference from the very beginning as the idea originated and through its organization and development. The Conference has been planned as a WPA Thematic Conference by the Spanish Forensic Group based at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and headed by Dr. Alfredo Calcedo-Barba. The Section has provided information on speakers, panels and workshops and have helped in distributing literature and promotional materials worldwide. Major world figures in forensic psychiatry will be attending from North and South America, Africa and Europe to discuss issues such as automatism, capacity, intoxications, professional responsibility, expert witness, etc.

In cooperation and conjointly with APSA (Asociacion de Psiquiatras Argentinos) and under the leadership of Dr. Graciela Lucatelli and Dr. Ronaldo G. Falcon , the Forensic Section is preparing a series of Workshops and Panels on forensic psychiatry in Lima that will include ethical, legal, and clinical topics.
