The Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (JSPN) is now accepting applications for the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology Fellowship Award, given to young psychiatrists from Asia and around the world.

In early June, the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry (ABP) launched a new tool to help members exchange experiences and knowledge. The online conference tool was inaugurated on June 2, prior to the scheduled regional workshops held by ABP.

The Silver Jubilee National Conference of the Indian Association for Social Psychiatry held on 15-17 November 2009 at Lucknow, India was an outstanding success. The landmark event was to celebrate the 25th year of the formation of the Indian Association for Social Psychiatry (IASP - a Member Society of the WPA).

For the third consecutive year, the Swedish Psychiatric Association held its annual congress. Approximately 500 of the 1700 members attended. The Southern Theatre in Stockholm hosted the congress.

Organized by the Medical Faculty University of Mostar, Clinic for Psychiatry Mostar and for the first time co-organized by the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina, The Mostar`s Seventh Psychiatric Saturday with the main theme "Psychosomatic Medicine: When the Soul Speaks Trough the Body" was held at the Hotel Ero in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 26 June 2010.

Organized by the University Clinic for Psychiatry Tuzla, the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Psychiatric Association of Tuzla Canton the First Symposium on Alcohology in Bosnia and Herzegovina with international participation with the theme "Modern Approach in the Treatment of Alcohol-induced Disorders” was held on 23-24 April 2010 at the Hotel Tuzla in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Annual Meeting of the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina, entitled the Теnth Psychiatry Days Teslić 2010 was held on 26-27 March 2010 in Banja Vrućica Spa, near the City Teslić with the main topic being “Anxiety Disorders”. It was organised by the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Psychiatric Clinic of Banja Luka Clinical Centre.

The Clinic for Psychiatry, Clinical Centre of Serbia, in collaboration with the Serbian Psychiatric Association, Psychiatric Section of Serbian Medical Society and Serbian Young Psychiatrists Section is organizing the XXXVIII. EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM: "EARLY PSYCHOSIS – A CHALLENGE FOR PREVENTION, DIAGNOSTICS AND THERAPY" at the Hotel Continental, on 4-5 November 2010 in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Egyptian Academy of Science has bestowed upon Professor Ahmed Okasha on the 21st of June 2010 the "MUBARAK State Prize for Medical Sciences 2010" named after the Egyptian President.

The Cyprus Psychiatric Association with the collaboration of the WPA Section on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the WPA Section on Preventive Psychiatry will organize, under the auspices of WPA, the International Conference “From Adolescence to Adulthood - Normality and Psychopathology”.
