The WPA Jean Delay Prize is one of psychiatry’s most prestigious awards.  Conferred triennially by the World Psychiatric Association at its World Congress of Psychiatry, the Prize bears the name of the first president of the WPA and commemorates his own significant contributions to the practice of psychiatry in the 20th century.

Awarded to an individual recognized as having “made a noteworthy contribution to the biological, psychological or social aspects of psychiatry or built useful bridges between them”, the prize includes a certificate of commendation, medal of recognition and a cheque in the amount of 40,000 euros.

The award winner will be selected by an international jury of experts, and will be required to deliver a plenary lecture at the 20th WPA World Congress of Psychiatry in Bangkok, Thailand, October 2020.
