WPA Education Portal Project

WPA received an unrestricted educational grant from industry to fund implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS) to support its Education Portal.  The system has a critical role in WPA's education and communications programs and, more recently, has also played a key role in its emergency response.

WPA Secretary for Education, Roger Ng, has led efforts to deliver a system that:

  • Provides a connection between trainers and trainees no matter where they are in the world

  • Enables the transfer of knowledge and skills through a variety of multi-modal learning opportunities

  • Ensures training resources are available on a range of topics in a variety of languages

  • Is accessible to any learner with an internet connection

Most recently, WPA developed a COVID-19 Resource Library to support collaboration and transfer of knowledge between its members and mental health professionals.  Contents of the library are now being transferred to the LMS which will allow for clear cataloguing and multilevel search capabilities.

The Education Portal continues to evolve and, while the planning and preparatory work has been undertaken in the 2017-2020 triennium, the tool itself will officially launch in coming months.  Watch this space!
