Fighting against stigmatisation: a French-speaking contribution to a global stake’ webinar is now available on the WPA Education Portal
The ‘Fighting against stigmatisation: a French-speaking contribution to a global stake’ webinar took place in French on Wednesday 5th July, 2023.
While affirming that stigma is a global phenomenon facing psychiatrists worldwide, this webinar was conducted in French, for the first time in the recent history of WPA educational materials. This webinar covers two half-hour lectures followed by a Q&A session.
The first speaker was Dr Julien Dubreucq from Claude Bernard University in Lyon, France. His talk covers an overview of his highly acclaimed doctoral thesis on stigma. The core of his presentation was an attempt to understand the relationship between clinical care and stigma, and how to combat the latter by promoting recovery-based clinical practice.
The second speaker was Professor Uta Ouali, a psychiatrist and teacher-researcher at the Razi Hospital in Tunis. She is also Principal Investigator of the Tunisian branch of the international INDIGO project. Her presentation focused on her work to fight against stigmatization of mental illness in a low- and middle-income countries, based on her very recognized work with the population of a medium-sized town in northern Tunisia: Testour.
A recording of the webinar is now available for viewing on WPA’s Education Portal here.
Those who view the webinars will be able to download the WPA CPD Certificate and associated CPD points for each webinar via the WPA's Education Portal.
