Updated: Feb 25, 2023

New education modules in the Medical Students and Psychiatry series now available on WPA Education Portal to contribute to your professional growth and expand your knowledge

Following the addition of the Medical Students Wellbeing and Selfcare module to the Education Portal in late 2021, the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) Working Group on Medical Students from Pakistan and Canada have collaborated once again to develop two new modules in this series.

This three-part interactive series aims to provide information, strategies and resources for wellness, as an essential part of medical students’ undergraduate life in addition to providing an introduction to the important area of Psychiatry.

The three modules can be accessed via the direct links below:

  • What is Psychiatry?

  • Different aspects and opportunities in Psychiatry.

  • Why students should choose this important area of medicine.

The WPA Working Group on Medical Students' members include Professor Muhammad Waqar Azeem (Chair- Qatar), Professor Howard Liu (Co-chair-Nebraska, USA), Professor Bernardo Ng (San-Diego), Professor Mohan Isaac (Australia), Professor P.K. Dalal (India), Dr. Khalid Bazaid (Canada), Dr. Sridevi Sira Mahalingappa (UK) & Professor Dr Nazish Imran (Pakistan).

The addition of these modules to the portal continues to demonstrate WPA’s commitment to the 2020-2023 Action Plan’s focus on consolidating psychiatry as an inspiring branch of medicine.
