Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder characterised by relapsing episodes of mania/hypomania and depression which often develop eventually into chronic bipolar depression. Psychotic symptoms are not uncommon as well as cognitive impairment and significant disability. Social problems such as long-term unemployment, poverty and problems with the law are commonly correlated with bipolar disorder. The treatment is maybe the most complex and demanding among mental disorders and it includes medication, along with psychotherapy, counselling and social rehabilitation.

A recording of the webinar is now available for viewing on WPA’s Education Portal here.

For the nominal fee of USD $15, it is also possible to purchase the WPA CPD Certificate and associated CPD points for attending this webinar via the WPA's Education Portal.
