Russian Society of Psychiatrists, International Conference - Almaty


June 7-8, 2018 in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan) there was an international conference devoted to the problems of improving modern psychiatric services. The WPA was represented by the  President-Elect, Prof. A.Javed, a member of the Standing Committee, Prof. P.Morozov, and Representative of the WPA for Eastern Europe O. Skugarevsky. Within the framework of the conference, the 7th meeting of the heads of national societies of the 10th WPA Zone was held with the participation of representatives of the societies of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

 A.Javed and P.Morozov held meetings with the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan E.A.Birtanov, the rector of the University T.S.Nurgozhin, the president of the Association of specialists working in the field of mental health S.A.Altynbekov and the head of the Mental Health Research Center N.A.Negay.

An agreement was reached on the holding in September-October 2019 in Alma-Ata of the regional WPA Congress.
