A WPA co-sponsored meeting lends its support and branding to a national member society, WPA component or another reputable organisation (such as an educational institution) to assist in the promotion of their event. An important condition for co-sponsorship is that the content of any such meeting is both consistent with WPA's views and aligned with its ethics and values. Accordingly, WPA must approve the content of any co-sponsored meeting. There is no regulation for the timing and duration of these congresses, but they must not compete with other WPA activities. Whilst WPA provides professional and scientific advice for these events where requested, it does not bear any financial or organisational responsibility. WPA may also allocate CPD credits during these meetings when appropriate.
