The World Psychiatric Association (WPA) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation funded by a mix of public and private donors and activities such as our annual World Psychiatry Congress. None of our income is guaranteed, and without financial contributions from individuals, foundations, governments, and other institutions, we may struggle to carry out our work.

We actively seek support from individuals and organisations who share our values and aims, and who wish to invest in supporting us in the field of mental health.

Tax exemption and tax deductibility
WPA is a civil, not-for-profit association based in Geneva and tax-exempt in Switzerland. Depending on your domicile and subject to tax law advice, your donation may be tax-deductible. WPA will issue a receipt of your gift upon request.

• The Swiss Federal Tax law permits a maximum reduction of 20% of the net taxable income for charity donations by physical persons or 20% of their taxable net profit for legal entities. The amount may vary from Canton to Canton.
• For donations from outside of Switzerland, please inquire with your local tax authority, where you are liable for taxation.
