The World Psychiatric Association's (WPA) Certified Comprehensive Online Educational Course on Yoga in Mental Health, which took place at the end of 2021, proved to be a big success! As such, WPA plans to offer this course again in the future and will release further information soon.
Last year's course was attended by a wide range of fully qualified Mental health professionals, and was delivered in 2 parts - Part 1: Online Orientation Programme and Part 2: Four Day Certified Online Course (Four weekly sessions).
WPA is pleased to now offer Part 1 of the course "Orientation Programme in Yoga in Mental Health" on the Education Portal. Part 1 of this course is designed to familiarise students with the fundamentals of Yoga Practice before registering for Part 2 of the course, which is a Certified Course.
The training faculty for the course are renowned global experts from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), India (WPA Collaborating Centre). For decades, they have been passionately involved in developing skills of integrating simple Yoga-based lifestyle tips into their clinical practice. This two-part course was organised by WPA in collaboration with the Indian Psychiatric Society and NIMHANS, India, with the objective of enhancing the capacity building of trained mental health professionals in yoga across the world, who would like to practise incorporating these skills in evidence-based service delivery.
