Registration now open for the new WPA online learning webinar on: Psychiatric Rehabilitation



Registration is now open for the new World Psychiatric Association's (WPA) online learning webinar: ‘Rethinking and experience sharing on Psychiatric Rehabilitation’.

Delivered by global experts - Kamonnet Wannasewok and Tsuyoshi Akiyama - the 2-hour webinar will discuss and debate the concept of ‘Psychiatric Rehabilitation', with examples from Japan and Thailand to illustrate how psychiatric rehabilitation practice can make use of existing mental health, social care, housing care and spiritual care resources to create synergy in providing a culturally relevant and acceptable psychiatric rehabilitation model.

This webinar is designed for mental health professionals, especially psychiatrists working in the field of severe mental illnesses, it aims to increase knowledge and understanding of Psychiatric Rehabilitation.


The webinar will take place on the 28th of October 2021, 1900 – 2100 HKT and will include presentations on:

‘Introduction to psychiatric rehabilitation and PSR services in Thailand’ (by Kamonnet Wannasewok, Secretary of the WPA Scientific Section on Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.


‘Enhancement of recovery in work: Japan Model’ (by Tsuyoshi Akiyama, Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology.


The presentations will be followed by a discussion forum and interactive Q&A session with the presenters and additional experts - Prof Roger MK Ng and Dr Noppawan Tunsirimas.


WPA is pleased to offer this webinar for free thanks to the support of Otsuka Hong Kong Limited. The collaborating partners are WPA Zone 16, WPA Zone 17 and WPA Section of Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Attendees can receive a WPA CPD Certificate on completion of the webinar for a fee of USD $15.
