The World Psychiatric Association (WPA) has been at the forefront of advocating for the promotion of psychiatry among medical students and supporting the journey of medical learners. As part of the WPA Triennium Action Plan 2020-2023, capacity building and fostering an interest in psychiatry among medical students have emerged as pivotal objectives. To champion these goals, we established the WPA Working Group on Medical Students, dedicated to addressing the mental health and well-being of medical students, dismantling the stigma surrounding mental health, and showcasing psychiatry as a rewarding career path.
