Psychiatry, Medicine & Primary Care
This section focuses on the important interface between psychiatry, medicine, and primary healthcare. An appreciation of the need for interprofessional collaboration between mental health providers and disciplines that focused on primary healthcare delivery is a core component of the section's activities.

Three significant areas of focus shaped the development of the section activities:
1- The critical role of behavioural health in the maintenance of health and mental health, i.e. lifestyle psychiatry
2- The limitations and barriers of mental healthcare access in low and middle-income countries
3- The education, empowerment, and development of students in health and mental health from a global perspective and promote mental health integration into primary healthcare

The section is dedicated to creating working collaborations with other WPA Sections, other healthcare provider organisations, other mental health care provider organisations, and other key stakeholders involved with overall healthcare policy, delivery and education.

The current projects within the section include the following:
1- The role of lifestyle psychiatry in healthcare
2- The promotion and delivery of health and mental healthcare in low and middle-income countries
3- Engaging students from across the spectrum of health and mental healthcare to integrate mental health into primary healthcare
