Special Interest Groups

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide a forum on key issues within psychiatry and mental health. They comprise experts and interested professionals in their respective areas. Their main objectives are to encourage WPA membership to start work in areas that at a later stage may require approval to become a Scientific Section. Special Interest Groups will have a Chair and a small committee to work towards achieving their remit.

There are currently four Special Interest Groups:

If you are interested in joining a Special Interest Group, please contact the Group's chair directly (contact details are available on the individual SIG pages - see links above). You will need to provide the following information:

  • Name

  • Contact details (e.g. Address, Email, Telephone)

  • Country of practice

  • Your WPA Member Society

  • A short description explaining why they would like to join the SIG

If you are a Special Interest Group Chair and would like to make an update to your web page, please use our password-protected page to upload the updates. If you have any problems accessing the page, please contact us here.
