Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award
Professor Mario Maj is a former WPA President (2008–2011), Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the University of Campania in Naples, and founder of World Psychiatry, the WPA’s official journal. His research has made significant contributions to the understanding and treatment of mood disorders, schizophrenia, and other severe mental disorders.
Professor Norman Sartorius is a former WPA President (1993–1999) and former Director of the WHO Division of Mental Health. His research has made significant contributions to the understanding of schizophrenia, depression, and mental health services. He is also internationally recognized for his leadership in reducing stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.

- No more than five years elapsed since completion of specialist training
- Exceptional educational and professional record
- Agreement to translate one Specialist Corner lecture from the 2026 WCP Congress into their own local language
